Quaranteens

THE DANGER IS FORGETTING : Forgetting the fits-and-starts flow : from childhood to adulthood : Forgetting how friends formed us : Forgetting what helped or hurt : Glued us together, or tore us apart : Our quaranteens were just getting going : When they got stopped cold : Now restarting together, different and on a changed path forward : Wondering what they'll remember from the pause : And what they'll leave far behind.

Stepping out of the little boxes they had been kept in during COVID19, we had the opportunity to capture this group of teens on their way from children to adults, from isolation to socialization. What a journey it was. They brought a quiet sense of self that had been left to manifest over a year of introspection. Each seemed to step into the studio with apprehension and anxiety. We could see both the worry and the fear, the excitement and hope written all over their faces. A gift and a curse, this pandemic will have an undeniable affect on this generation. If this little segment is any indication, they are on their way to make their world and ours a kinder, more thoughtful place - one that values what we all know now is the most important. Each other.
